Coxsackie Declaration
of Independence
As the American Revolution was developing, the Bronck House was a meeting place for the Coxsackie Committee of Correspondence. The
Coxsackie Declaration of Independence was signed in 1775, more than a year before the
Continental Congress would do the same.

in America
This restored 18th century homestead was the Revolutionary War headquarters of Major General Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben.
Von Steuben played a key role in establishing the Society of the
Cincinnati, our nation's first veterans' organization and a fraternal order of the officers of the Continental Army. The Society was formed at Mount Gulian on May 13, 1783.
